SUBJECT: PRESS PUSHER
PROBLEMS.
With the tramper all the way up there must be about 3” clearance between the top
of the pusher and the bottom of the tramper foot.

The cutoff plate that is above the pusher must also have about 3” clearance between
it and the top of the pusher.

If there is less than 3” clearance then when the cotton builds up in the lint slide the
pusher will not come all the way in.

If the pusher does not come all the way in the tramper will not come down. When the
tramper does not come down you go around to the pusher and reach in and trip the
limit switch that tells the tramper that the pusher is all the way in so the tramper will
come down.

When you do this the tramper comes down but it sounds like a stick of dynamite
goes off and the tramper tries to jump off the press. This is not good.

If you will adjust the tramper and the cutoff plate above the pusher so that there is 3”
of clearance as described above, the cotton can pile up to the roof of your gin and the
pusher will come in as it is supposed to do and the tramper will come down as it is
supposed to do.
